Cheryl Schoenberger, LMSW
Hi! My name is Cheryl and I have been a social worker for over 25 years. I love working with children and families. My background is in child welfare working with children in foster care/adoption, the school system, and providing therapy for children and families in their homes. I have been successful in helping children with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, behavior issues, ADHD, anger management, and life changes. I will help your child develop valuable coping skills to deal with life stressors.

I believe one of the most important foundations in therapy is for the therapist to build a trusting rapport with the child. One of the ways I will do this is by integrating my specialized training in play therapy in our sessions. Play therapy is a way in which I interact with your child that is going to help them heal and process through difficult things in their life. I also utilize a variety of approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, and strength-based therapy.

Based on my experience, I am hopeful I can help your child to deal with life stressors and to improve their quality of their life. I earned my Master’s Degree of Social Work in 2002 from the University of Kansas. I am currently accepting new patients and I value partnering with families to find effective and practical ways to support their children.
